This is a place where you can talk about anything.
Anything at all.

I met with my travel agent today to figure out where I wanted to go for vacation next summer and make reservations.
I was originally goign to go to Scotland...but I changed my mind last minute and decided to go to Greece. So at the beginning of June, I am going to Greece for two weeks! I am so excited! I can't wait to see all of the ancient ruins.
I am going to be based in Athens, but plan on taking the express ferry to Santorini and Mykonos...possibly Crete if I have time. And I am DEFINITELY going to make the time to visit Delphi.
Some of the places I have included on my itinerary are The Delphi Museum and the Sanctuary of Apollo and Sanctuary of Athena in Delphi. In the Mykonos Island I am going to take a boat to the Delos archaeological site, where Apollo and Artemis where born. In the Santorini Island, I am going to visit the volcanic island of Nea Kamini, and Ancient Thira. And of course...Athens. SO much to see in Athens...not limited to the Temple of Zeus, the Acropolis, Hadrian's Arch and hopefullyl the Evzone guards at the tomb of the unknown soldier.
~sighs! I can't wait to go...June...hurry up and get here!!!

So jealous of you. I've always wanted to visit those sights. I've been to Greece, but only Crete. It was for business, not pleasure, but the bit I did see was gorgeous. Those places are going to be so awesome to visit. Don't you just love standing somewhere where so much history took place? Can I just say how jealous I am again.

Business? What kind of business do you work in that brought you to Crete. ~laughs~ That makes me jealous. The farthest my work has sent me was only 2 hours away. ~snickers~
I can't wait to go. I am SO excited to see everything. I have an awesome travel guide that I bought at my bookstore and am trying to work out a kick ass itinerary that will let me get the most out of it. I love sightseeing, so that is my biggest concern.
And yes...Greece is one of the places that I want to go because of the history. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Greek Mythology, so going to see the old temples and places like Delos...the thought has my heart pounding lick a jackhammer in my chest. ~laughs~

LoL. I'm a stay at home mom. But when I lived in Germany with my husband, he owned a post production company. So I went to him with Crete to film some stuff. I loved it, but I was kinda scared on the the road because of the high precipices(sp).

~snickers~ The trick is budgeting. I have a strict budget that I follow now that I am living on my own and have a mortgage and car and yada yada yada. Being that I don't have a straight wage, I based my budgeted income on what I am GAURANTEED to make, and anything over that amount goes straight into my travel account, which is through a completely different bank from my primary one so that I'm not tempted to dip in from time to time. ~laughs~
By doing this, I am able to take a trip every year! ~smiles~
Sad thing is...my book budget each month is more than my cell phone bill, home phone bill, internet and cable bill combined. ~cackles~ As a matter of fact, I believe it's just short of my monthly car + car incurance payment. Oy vey...obsessed much?
But it makes me happy so...~shrugs~
